Office Visits
Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, and high-quality dental care. We understand that you or your child may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. We are sensitive to your needs, and it is our goal to make you feel comfortable visiting our practice while we provide the best possible care.
Your first visit is all about you: your comfort, your happiness, and your health
During your first visit, we will review your dental and medical history forms, and take X-rays of your teeth and mouth. We will polish your teeth and complete a full mouth inspection of your teeth and gums for cavities or early sign of tooth decay or gingivitis. Then one of our doctors will meet with you to discuss your X-rays, help you create your individual treatment plan, and answer any questions you may have.
Bring your smile, but also remember to:
Complete your online forms
Bring your dental insurance card
Bring a valid form of ID
Bring a copy of medications if applicable
Regular checkups are an important part of maintaining a healthy smile!
The American Dental Association recommends a visit to your dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
We understand you have a busy schedule, so when you’re preparing to visit our office, please remember your appointments can last between 45 and 90 minutes.

It is crucial to know that a plan may include specific inclusions and exclusions we may not know about advance. Therefore, it is important for the patient to understand his/her dental benefits.
Although we don’t know exactly how much your insurance provider will pay for your specific treatment, until they actually pay for it, we are able to call your insurance provider, get a breakdown of insurance benefits and create an estimate for you. Benefits discussed with the patient are only estimates. If you would prefer to have in writing what the insurance will cover for your procedure, we are happy to send in a pre-authorization for your treatment plan.
Typically, it takes about 4-6 weeks to receive the pre-authorization back. Please keep in mind, that even the insurance company will state this is only an estimate. Meaning, what they end up actually paying for your procedures may be different than even what the pre-authorization states.
Prioritizing Dental Needs versus Your Coverage
Don’t hesitate to speak with us about financial concerns. If you have limited coverage and don’t want to go too far over the coverage ceiling, we can prioritize your treatment plan so it fits in your budget and your dental coverage.
Depending on your insurance limit per year, we can help you navigate and schedule your needs based on that limit and suggest the most cost-effective treatment possible. We are here to help you achieve your oral health goals while also taking into consideration that everyone has a budget.
CareCredit as an Additional Payment Option
CareCredit is a convenient, flexible way to assist our patients when the need for more extensive dental treatment is necessary. They offer multiple deferred interest payment options that are sure to meet most payment needs. Want to see if you qualify? What Sets Our Pediatric Dentistry Apart From The Rest?
At PBDDS, it is our goal to make sure that every child has a good experience in a caring environment while receiving dental treatment. We also strive to comfort their parents throughout the experience.
Dr. Lynn Booth and Dr. Steve Booth typically see children over three years old. Early preventive care can help children maintain healthy teeth and establish a good relationship with the dentist.
Their first visit with us should be fun and positive. If they are nervous about the visit, we might only take a fun ride in the “magic chair” that day. As they get to know us and our office, each appointment should be more comfortable. We love watching our young patients grow and enjoy developing a wonderful relationship with them.
What does PBDDS offer to ensure your child has a good experience?
TVs in every room
Goodie bags with toothbrushes and toothpaste
Laughing gas for restorative procedures
A dental team who will bend over backward, sing songs, and act silly just to get your children to smile
A dental team who have small children of their own and completely understand how important it is for you and your child to have the VERY BEST experience possible
What are some things you can do to help your child feel more comfortable at PBDDS?
Talk with him or her positively before the appointment about what to expect when you visit the dentist.
Pick out some library books about going to the dentist and read them beforehand.
Show them pictures of the PBDDS doctors and team as well as photos of the office.
Have them watch your appointment or one of their older sibling’s appointments.
Encourage them to ask questions.
Try to avoid any negative questions after the appointment for instance, “Did it hurt?”
Focus on encouraging words and staying positive.
